Help us raise $100,000 to keep the Mountain Playhouse alive!
Theaters throughout the nation are facing the threat of closing their doors and the
Mountain Playhouse, celebrating our 70th anniversary season in 2009, is working hard to
keep our doors open. As cultural organizations across the country are contracting in a
grim economic climate, the Mountain Playhouse Board of Directors has embarked on a
$100,000 fundraising campaign in a proactive effort to remain operational. A
combination of factors including significant decreases in foundation funding and state
government support has put the Mountain Playhouse in a dire financial shortage. The
immediate future of the theater must be funded to ensure that our long-term future is
viable.
We are confident that the continued assistance of donors such as you will make future
seasons at the Mountain Playhouse possible and guarantee that this professional theater
remains an important part of our region’s cultural landscape. Think of the quality of
life, the educational productions that reach over 5,000 students each year, and the
countless memorable productions that the Mountain Playhouse has brought to our region.
We're asking you, as a loyal supporter of the theater, to step up to the plate and save
the Mountain Playhouse, not just for this season but for the future as well.
